Rising sign calculator
Your rising sign is the sign that was coming up over the eastern horizon at the minute you were born. It shapes how you meet the world, and it sets the order of the houses in your chart.
How it works
The rising sign changes about every two hours, so it needs your birth time and place. The calculator sends them to the Sky Above chart engine, which computes your chart with the Swiss Ephemeris and returns your ascendant. Nothing is saved.
Write the place as "City, Country", for example "Leeds, GB" or "Austin, US".
A worked example
Two people born on the same day in the same city, two hours apart, will usually have different rising signs. That is why the birth time matters more here than anywhere else in the chart.
